How can we imagine a world with people caring for their mental health and wellbeing when the world itself is rooted in inequality?

While working on reducing the stigma of mental illness and seeking professional health for mental health disorders, have we ever wondered whether there are even public resources to provide help when they finally seek help? Yes! It is high time to address the issue of accessibility to mental health facilities for the larger section of society.

One of the crucial issues faced by the global south is the lack of public resources to address the needs in health. Unfortunately, most NGOs and health initiatives are focusing merely on the stigma aspect of mental illness. As a result, the recipients of these initiatives are just the elite themselves or are not adequate for the marginalized on a practical level.

Therefore, we need to explore various ways to make mental health services accessible to the whole society, irrespective of their socio-economic and cultural status. It should also include advocacy for policy-level changes in governments' approach to investing more in public health.
